Members of the Volunteer Club 爱心社visited Hua Shan Hospital last Thursday (October 14, 2010). Wearing matching red t-shirts, the club members were immediately distinguishable as they arrived at the hospital lobby.

This was the Volunteer Club’s first visit to a hospital where the members performed for the patients. The lively music permeated the air and brought an exciting and beautiful change to the hospital environment. However, it was Jacob’s magic tricks that left the audience with dropped jaws.

Performances

Shun Yao: Piano
Eika: Accordian
Yuka: Piano
王樱 and 曾忱: Singing
Chie Katsura: Flute

Alex Wu: Flute
Scrubs Ding: Recorder
施文律 and 徐丹丹: Dancing
Jacob Lin: Magic Tricks!

Later, the volunteer club presented patients with rainbow strands of origami cranes, particularly to those who could not view the musical performances. The origami cranes not only bring color to the whiteness of the hospital, but it said that whoever folds a thousand cranes will be granted a wish such as long life or recovery from an illness, making it an appropriate present for the hospital patients. Made by all the members of the volunteer club

The head nurse was very satisfied with the event and has suggested that hospital visits to Huashan Hospital become a regular Volunteer club activity. The evening ended on a high note for the Volunteer club members as they departed having fulfilled the goal of making the day happier for a few hospital patients.
